“Victoria Falls is the most cleanest City in the country. I would like to applaud everyone in the city mainly residents and all stakeholders for what you have been doing to make the city clean. I and my other two colleagues, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Housing and the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, we were geared for a massive cleanup but we didn’t find anything to clean because the city is clean.”

The Permanent Secretary for Environment urged other cities in the country especially Harare to emulate the good works being done by stakeholders in Victoria Falls to make the city clean and the ability to enhance solid a waste management concepts which is part of a circular economy by enhancing waste recycling, biodigestion among other green initiatives.

“Victoria Falls have gone a step further in adopting certain areas which they continue to monitor and encouraging everyone to always cleanup. That’s a lesson and it is our hope that rest of the country, especially Harare to be able to pick up issues of recycling, biodigestion and others and this is the way to go to make sure this game becomes sustainable. We also thank the municipality of Victoria Falls for enhancing solid waste management and that has to be complemented.”

Victoria Falls which has also emerged as the first city in the region to achieve herd immunity with regards to vaccination against COVID-19, has the potential to become the most cleanest tourism in the region and continent.

“Victoria Falls is one of the first cities certainly in the region to have achieved herd immunity in terms of vaccination against COVID-19. Let’s now fight to get the tag of the cleanest tourism city in the region if not in Africa. This will make us proud to have the most cleanest city in the continent and that will be a selling point.”
